Question 1: What should I wear to classes?
Answer:
It is recommended that you wear workout shorts and vest top or t-shirt, as skin contact with the pole is needed. Stretchy material is best so that you have a good range of movement. Moisturiser is also not to be worn and please do not wear jewellery as this can damage the poles and your jewellery.
Question 2: Why can’t I apply moisturiser or tan before coming to class?
Answer:
These are never fully absorbed into the skin; it will transfer onto the pole during use and will interfere with yours as well as other students grip. It makes the pole slippery and therefore dangerous.
Question 3: What shoes do I wear?
Answer:
Most classes are taken with bare feet, although some people do wear trainers or pump style shoes. You will have the opportunity to wear heels later if you want. Please check your class information for more information.
Question 4: Who comes to classes?
Answer:
Pole Sessions classes are open to all women, no matter your age (as long as you are over 18), classes are made up of all different shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels, so you are sure to fit in!
Question 5: Why do I have to remove jewellery?
Answer:
Metal against metal impairs your grip. Also, the poles are specialised equipment, jewellery damages them. (Your jewellery may also become damaged).
Question 6: Am I too old?
Answer:
You are never too old to learn new skills. A sensual woman is ageless. This is a fitness class and is open to everyone. There is no upper age limit. At Pole Sessions we have even taught women in their 70’s to do pole fitness, and many ages come to our other fitness classes.
Question 7: How many women attend each class?
Answer:
We never have more than 30 in each class with 3 instructors so you get plenty of pole time! If the class is full we will give you extra pole time at the end of the lesson.
Question 8: Will I have to strip?
Answer:
Unless we are talking about your coat, No. Nudity is not allowed at classes.
Question 9: I don’t think I can lift my bodyweight. Is it for me?
Answer:
Pole Sessions will help you learn and build your strength. Pole dancing is about more than just tricks. It is a workout and dance form that every woman can practice. Question 10: I am pregnant / just given birth. Can I still come to class?
Answer:
Pole dancing is unsuitable if you are pregnant or if you have very recently given birth. Please check with your doctor if you are unsure. We usually say wait a few months after your baby has been born to start pole fitness, please as your midwife.
Question 11: How much does it cost?
Answer:

- Advanced classes are £8 per lesson or £35 for 6 lessons if paid up front or £30 with your loyalty card.
- Private Lessons are £25 – £35 per person per hour. Discounts will be given for group bookings.
Please see our prices page for more fitness class pricing.

Question 13: Are men allowed?
Answer:

Question 14: Is pole dancing safe?
Answer:

As with any sporting activity, injury can occur. Pole dancing can intensify existing injuries, especially back, neck and joints problems. Therefore, should this apply to you, it is advised that you seek medical advice before joining the class.
The classes are progressive and flexible enough to be able to adjust to individual needs.
