Interview with Sarah
How did you get started pole dancing?
I was looking for a fun way to tone up and get fit without spending hours in a gym, I found Pole Sessions was opening and started the 6 weeks beginner course and loved it!
What is your favorite pole move?
Side climb into figurehead its simple but looks really effective on spin!
How would you describe your personal style?
I would say I’m still trying to find my style by perfecting and linking moves together
How often do you pole?
Twice a week currently
What is your biggest struggle as a pole dancer?
Building my confidence to trust myself when trying to achieve new moves but with lots of encouragement and advice from the girls I get there in the end!
What was your most memorable pole moment?
Mastering the move Superman, week after week of practice I finally did it, its a great feeling when you accomplish a new move.
What is it about pole dancing you enjoy so much?
Every week I look forward to meeting up with the pole girlies, we motivate and push each other to achieve our goals for the lesson, while finding fun ways to build our strength moves using the pole.
What have you learned that has made the biggest difference to your pole dancing?
Work at your own pace with your own ability you can’t compare yourself to fellow polers as everyone is different and has their own strengths and weaknesses
What are you favourite tips for pole dancing?
A nice warm bath after your first lesson, When starting out you will find muscles aching you didn’t know you had, so feeling a little achy after your first lesson is completely normal but don’t let this put you off, your muscles quickly build up a tolerance and you will feel your strength build up each lesson.
Who is the person who has had the most impact on your dancing?
Claire is fantastic instructor from my first lesson she made me feel at ease and has given me so much encouragement and advice my confidence grew and grew and this is where my love for pole dancing began.
What is your favourite grip?
Spray grip helps you feel little more secure on those knee holds.
What are the main fitness benefits of pole dancing and how has pole dancing improved your fitness, strength or body shape?
My strength built up so quickly i feel my body shape is more toned and defined
What do you like to do when you’re not pole dancing?
You will find when your not pole dancing, your looking at routines, new moves to try, new combinations its very addictive.
